Our Skipton office are supporters of the local tennis centre who have been doing their utmost to continue helping its members and the wider community.
During lockdown, Skipton Tennis Centre immediately started supporting local schools that were open as a hub for children of key workers and delivered three afternoons of sports for 17 consecutive weeks.
The centre also used digital communication such as emails and weekly texts to members and beyond, as well as provided PE learning via Microsoft Teams for schools.
They also managed to have their a busy holiday camp which saw 500 children take part over seven weeks, all while adhering to strict government guidelines.
Walker Foster would like the praise the centre for its hard work in enabling local tennis to get back up and running, as well as the fantastic work in the community.
We have actively contributed to their Sponsored Players Initiative, which saw children from local schools who would not usually be able to join the club because of financial reasons or difficulties at home.
Managing Director Keith Hardington said: “It has been great to see an organisation helping the community in such uncertain times. They have gone beyond duty to help local school children and once lockdown was over, provided an effective plan of action to get people enjoying tennis safely again.”

Helping Out at Christmas
Skipton Tennis Centre is also looking to help families, couples and individuals this Christmas by putting together food boxes.
While working with Morrisons, the food boxes will cover everything for a family to have a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings (even crackers and a bottle of wine).
The centre and its supporters are paying the cost food boxes and will deliver them on the 23rd December.
They are now calling for more to get involved and fund a box this Christmas.
A food box will cost:
£15 – single adult
£25 – two people
£40 – family (2 adult’s 2 children)
If you would like to help contribute to a food box, contact the centre by phone on 01756 796655 or email info@skiptontennis.com by Friday 4th December.
An incredible effort from all members of the team, supporting an amazing charity.
Supporting a good cause can help achieve a great sense of wellbeing, and improve team morale. It’s simple; when we give back, we feel good.
New anti-litter signs funded by Walker Foster Solicitors have been erected in The Pinewoods following a pilot project by Keep Britain Tidy.
