“People are often surprised to hear that the NHS can potentially fund the entire cost of their loved one’s care via Continuing Healthcare,” said Robert, speaking in the T&A.
“Whether someone is eligible depends on several factors, such as how complex, intense, and unpredictable their nursing care needs are. This will be assessed initially by a GP, a nurse or a social worker, and then by a panel of healthcare professionals.”
Robert has helped a number of families understand the system and take control of care fees for their loved ones.
Whether this is by discovering funding available to them or collecting unclaimed funding to which they are entitled.
Local councils can also contribute towards the cost of care but only for those who have a capital of less than £23,250.
