Maggie joined Walker Foster in April 2006 as a Licensed Conveyancer. During this time she also began dealing with Probate matters and this lead to her qualifying as a Probate Practitioner with the Council of Licensed Conveyancers in June 2010. Although Maggie has continued to deal with Probate matters, she then began dealing with Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. This lead to her taking and passing the STEP Diploma Trusts and Estates – Administration of Estates examination in June 2015. STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) members help families plan for their futures, from drafting a will to advising on issues concerning international families, protection of the vulnerable, family businesses and philanthropic giving.
Maggie has built up excellent relationships with the local estate agents in and around the firm’s Barnoldswick office where Maggie is based and she is always happy to get involved with and help the local business community.
During her time at Walker Foster, Maggie has built up an excellent reputation locally which means much of her work comes from recommendation and word of mouth.
Maggie sits on the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility committee where she has joint responsibility for raising the profile of local community projects and charities who need both financial and other help and support. The committee also helps to raise much needed funds for local good causes.
Best part of the job for Maggie:
The sense of satisfaction from giving clients a good service and being able to help them by just being a listening ear when they feel the need to offload.
