Louise Blackwell
(Family)

Litigation Associate

Louise joined Walker Foster in 2016.  Louise has worked in both public and private family practice for over 10 years and has experience in all aspects of family law.  Louise gained her qualifications in law from the University of Wolverhampton and then the latter through the Institute of Legal Executive ( Ilex) route.  Practice in family law was one of her elective modules and is well versed in all areas of family law, including divorce and finances, Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees, Children Act matters, Cohabitation Agreements, Protection from Harassment and Non-Molestation Orders.

When dealing with clients Louise believes it is important to listen to everything they have to say as separation and other family matters can be highly emotive. More often than not, you are the only person the client can talk openly and honestly with.  It is important to be non-judgmental but at the same time giving the client good solid advice and ensuring that advice provides a positive solution to their situation.  Not all cases are the same, nor are all clients the same, so adapting to the client’s personality is essential.

Louise has worked alongside many professionals, such as barristers, CAFCASS, social services and other agencies, so has an excellent understanding on how these other professions work, which is beneficial.

Louise believes in an emphatic approach but at the same managing clients’  expectations, whilst given them a first class service.

Best part of the job for Louise:

It is rewarding achieving a positive outcome for clients in situations that can be extremely stressful.

What clients say about Louise:
